Zagreb jams - introduction
We were waiting for them so long. After the
spectacular double-jam weekend, a question remains:
How long do we have to wait until the next gathering
in Zagreb?
Both jams met our expectations. There was a
satisfying number of writers and visitors. Hope
the weekend gave the scene a good shake-up.
Rotor is one of the best things that happened
to the scene in last few years. We can still
remember discussions among writers during early
nineties - it was all about which position would
be ideal for the Zagreb's first Hall of Fame.
Rotor was the priority, but no one really moved
across that famous line between dreams and reality.
Not enough hard-working guys, too many of those
who preferred superficial scribbling plus police
visits. It turned out to be easier at Varšavska
or Križaniceva.
Really, schools are the most attractive place
for writers to feel comfortable and work in
peace, out of citizens-staring range, concentrated
to work and dedicated to style.
As for the style, we must mention Meeting of
Styles as well. In case you haven't been there,
there's no need to check the pieces on this
site. Just run down to Ferencica - it's worth
checking what was happening at the first jam
to remember after Split 1998. Later you can
get back to ZGB Kaos and read Lunar's review.
Time for some flare-up? Enjoy it!
